Heather B. Poster, U.W. Madison (1999) and Marquette Law School (2002), is a shareholder with the law firm of Becker, Hickey & Poster, S.C., Milwaukee, and practices family law, estate planning, elder law, including trusts for the disabled, Title 19 (Medicaid) planning and guardianship.

Heather currently serves on the boards for the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and for WisPACT, Inc., the non-profit organization that oversees pooled and community trusts for the elderly and the disabled. She is an advisor and past board member (2008-2014) of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Elder Law Section Board. Heather is also a co-editor of the Medicaid Divestment Chapter of the Attorney’s Desk Reference and an editor of the Medicaid Chapter of the Advising Older Clients and Their Families, both published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. In 2012, she was appointed to the NAELA Steering Committee focusing on trusts and special needs trusts. She was named a rising star (2007-2008 and 2010-2012) and a Super Lawyer (2014) in elder law by Wisconsin Super Lawyers, a Law and Politics publication. She lectures extensively on Title 19 (Medicaid) planning for the elderly and disabled, special needs and pooled trust planning and guardianship/advanced directives issues.
